Being openly accountable is part of the point of this site. We correct in place and we never silently delete a rumor that turned out to be wrong.
When a rumor resolves
When Sony announces, or a higher-tier source confirms or refutes a rumor, we mark each related claim resolved (true or false), update the tracker and any post in place, and surface a short “what changed” note in the page’s visible history.
Source scoring
The sources that made the call, the outlet that originated the claim and any outlet that confirmed it independently, are then credited or debited in our public accuracy ledger. Outlets that merely repeated the story stay linked as coverage but are not scored on it. Sustained accuracy raises a source over time; repeated misses lower it.
